    1. Interesting. I try to make a pre-show meal with happy hour before catching a play. Austin Grill (& Teaism, if they still have that Thurs-Fri free nibbles bar from 5-7) would fit the bill for Fords Theatre & the Shakespeare Thtr, even the National & Warner Thtrs, if you don't mind the walk.

Please include any caveats, for instance I believe M&S demands a 2-drink minimum for that $1.95 menu (other places you can get by with nursing 1 beer/wine for 30 min. while you nibble).

      Thanks.

        1. Georgetown Seafood at 19th & Jefferson (Dupont Metro) has $0.50 clams and oysters on the half shell, as well as other $4-$5 food items and various drink specials. It's a great deal for seafood lovers.

An update on Georgetown Seafood Grill--I walked by at lunch time yesterday and it looks like the restaurant is being renamed by its parent company to FIN. The set-up looks the same. Didn't see a new menu posted.

                  WOW!

Thanks for the update. I'll check it out sometime next week.

                2. I'm at Mad Hatter's just about every Tuesday for free wings and $1.50 Heinekin and Amstel Light. It's about half-way between the Dupont and Farragut West Metro stops. Not exactly gourmet, but it suits me!

                    1. re: MrMoonPie

I love cheap Heinekins, and free will always make it into my budget. How long are the wings around for? I've gone to places that offer free apps, and there gone before 5:30p.m. (i.e. within a half hour or so).

                      Thanks.

Is next Tuesday's Jaleo fest at the downtown location?

                          Thanks,

                          K

I'm not sure - I didn't know they had a second location in Bethesda. I got the info from the local magazine "On Tap" (free paper - I get mine from Border's downtown) on page 44. The phone number that's listed for additional info is 202-628-7949.

                              • re: Wayne

They usually last until around 7, often later. My friends and I have been going there for three years or so, nearly every Tuesday. I won't be there this coming Tuesday, but will likely be there the next. Lemme know if you want to meet up!

                              • Old Ebbitt Grill has a 1/2 price raw bar from 4-6. Still not cheap but a pretty good deal compared to their regular prices.

                                  1. re: Ellen

I took a look at their menu from this website:

                                    http://www.americascuisine.com/dc/old...

A bit pricy, but it's looks like a good place to hang out after work.

Do they offering drink specials during happy hour as well?

                                    Thanks.

                                    • The linked website below has an extensive list of happy hour specials at bars in DC/NoVa/MD. You can search by neighborhood, and then open up the individual bars to see the details of what they serve during happy hour.
Also, there was a thread on half-price burgers a short while back that may be useful.

                                        1. Morton's offers free filet sandwiches at happy hour. Pretty tasty.
