This may be old news to some of you, but I visited the Creekside Smokehouse in Half Moon Bay for the fist time last weekend. Beautiful smoked fish (we tried the albacore tuna and trout) and cheeses (the smoked cheddar was fantastic). Prices were reasonable too (I got a couple of small trout filets for about $3).

Melanie, I have a confession to make. We were down in the Pescadero area (lunch at Duartes) then hit the beach for a while, where it was incredibly windy. Well, everytime I spend much time in the wind, I get incredibly sleepy, so I slept all the way up the coast, only awakening as we pulled up to the smokehouse. I have no idea what we passed on the way.
And Tonya, it is north of Half Moon Bay proper, in the Princeton area, so it is the one you're thinking of. Again, since I was asleep, I can't be more exact about the location.

That's funny. I was just going to post a message about this place when I came upon yours. The smoked fish here is fantastic! In addition to the trout and albacore, they sell wonderful smoked salmon, eel, and sturgeon. They use hickory for smoking as opposed to the more commonly used (for fish) alder and it gives the fish a somewhat stronger smoky taste -- I prefer it to some of the more "subtle" tasting stuff I've gotten elsewhere.
The fellow who does the smoking is really nice and will give you ice to pack with the fish if you will be travelling with it for a while.
The place is right near the Half Moon Bay/El Granada border. If you're heading south from SF, turn left at the light by the intersection for Princeton -- go away from the water -- and turn right at the service road that runs parallel to highway 1. The smokehouse will be on your left -- it's a little shack with pennants on it. Great stuff!!
