"natural" veal in Berkeley, Marin or S.F. ?

I buy Niman Ranch beef, pork and lamb at Berkeley Bowl, but I haven't found a source for veal that isn't fed hormones, antibiotics, etc. I know you can order from Summerfield Farms, but I need this right away, and I'd love to know if there is any source that's local. How about Cafe Rouge? Or does Whole Foods carry veal? If anyone knows, have you tried it? Is it good?

  1. I don't know if such a beast exists, but if it does then you can probably get it at Ver Brugge butcher on College in Oakland. Call and ask for Jerry Ver Brugge; if they don't carry it but it does exist, he should know where it can be found.

Thanks Louise, I was going to go to Ver Brugge for veal shanks if I couldn't find the "organic" stuff. (I've had delicious veal from there before.) I'll ask if there's such a thing in the Bay Area.
