Thyme Square in Bethesda

I wish this place got more mention in the board.
I had a delicious birthday dinner there - because I'm on their mailing list, I got a free entree card (with no limit on price, and I could use it up to 3 weeks after my b-day)
On a past visit, I had a wonderful mushroom lasagna. This time I had a scrumptious Brazilian shellfish stew on basmati rice ($19 & no skimmping on the seafood) & dear hubby had a great soup (pureed squash? smoked something?), & a pad Thai (~$13 tho I would have told him to get one at a Thai restaurant instead). A basket of fresh breads was served with a pumpkin spread. Our $7 desserts (mine - brulee, hubby's - tiramisu) were yummy. Service was attentive & dependable, the decor of this place very nice. They also have several veggie dishes & pizzas. Prices range from $10-20.
If you're on their mailing list, you can also get discounts (like $10-off) around holidays. Not sure if they offer cheaper entrees at lunch, or early-bird specials. And there's outdoor dining right next to the Capitol Crescent Hike/Bike Trail...
I was there once several years ago and was underwhelmed....but it sounds as if it may have improved since then. Maybe it is time to give it a try..especially with the opening of the new art theater in Bethesda Row.
Yes, this is a wonderful person for vegetarians and non. The food has been stellar on all recent visits, though service ranges dramatically. During busy hours, staff is attentive and service is quick. Off hours you can be forgotten.
