Who has the best shrimp salad in the Baltimore area?

  • a

Suddenly, I have a craving for shrimp salad. I often get mine from DiPasquales because it's right around the corner, but I'm wondering--

Where is your favourite shrimp salad in Baltimore? Inquiring minds want to know.

  1. Kibby's on Wilkens Avenue (near St. Agnes Hospital) was famous for their shrimp salad. I haven't been there in years, but I do remember that it was very good.

the best shrimp salad in baltimore, and possibly the world, used to be made by captain larry and served at his south baltimore bar (and, for a short wonderful time, the carryout restaurant he operated down the block). unfortunately, the captain retired late last year and now lives happily in key west, taking his shrimp salad recipe with him. it was truly scrumptious.

the best shrimp salad in baltimore that you can *still* get is at kibby's -- i totally agree with asun.

oops, got my poster and replier mixed up -- i mean i totally agree with bobby d. about kibby's, and hope you enjoy the shrimp salad, asun! they sell two sizes of the sandwich there, and the regular is really, really big -- so keep that in mind, unless you have a truly king-size craving!

As good of an excuse an any to go to Key West.

Thanks for the reminder. I also haven't been to Kibby's for years, and in fact it slipped my mind when I made the original post. My wife used to go to Kibby's all the time a few years back; we will have to go back and see if the shrimp salad has remained the same after all these years.
