Flemings Steakhouse is great!

  • b

I took my fiancee to dinner at the new Flemings steakhouse in Baltimore Sunday night and the food was fantastic.

Quite possibly the best steak I've ever had. (I had the 8 oz filet).

The side dishes are huge. We split the shoestring potatoes, which are really tasty, and fun to eat. The potatoes seem to be piled about a foot high on the plate.

And one more plus. Apparently Major League Baseball has a contract with the Waterfront Mariott so that all of the visiting teams stay in the hotel. And, being right next door, all of the ballplayers eat at Flemings. So, while we dined, we got to see Don Zimmer, Joe Torre, Jorge Posada and Derek Jeter up close and in person.

Not a bad night.

  1. Sounds great, and I've wanted to go in for a while.
Tell me, are we talking Morton's and Ruth's Chris prices here?

I've never been to Morton's or Ruths, but I can tell you that for two of us to polish off a glass of wine, a pint of Sam Adams, steak, grilled swordfish, two side dishes and two desserts, the bill came out to $80-something (before tip).

Thanks to both of you. $80 isn't bad at all, we'll have to give it a try.

In a word, yes. I understand that Fleming's is the upscale brother of Outback Steakhouse, and this company owns and operates both of those restaurants and CarrabbaÂ’s Italian Grill (among others).

For those who are interested in wine, one other attractive point about Fleming's is that is has some 100 wines by the glass.
