Sunday brunch near Georgetown?

  • m

Looking for casual but hearty Sunday lunch/brunch spots in Georgetown/Wisconsin Ave. corridor or Adams Morgan area. (Other than Cashion's). Somewhere o.k. to read the paper solo, but can handle a group of six or more rowdy chowhounds if need be. Any suggestions?

  1. I would go to Gabriel. It is on 22nd and P (a bit away from Georgetown proper)One of the best brunches I have ever been to. Traditional breakfast stuff, great selection of desserts, whole roasted pig and a bunhc of other goodies.

I thought I had heard that Gabriel's was planning some extensive renovations? Don't know if this is still being planned, has started, or perhaps is even finished. Anyway, you might want to call first.

Almost finished. They have kept their normal business hours since the beginning, as far as I know.

    2. If you're really looking for rowdy, one of my favorite brunch spots is Perry's in Adams Morgan. They do a high-end drag show that's truly a riot! It's a mixed crowd and just enough unsuspecting grandma's to be really amusing. A great bloody mary too!

      1. Luna on Connecticut has a great brunch menu. It's more Dupont Circle, but the food is always yummy. Be prepared to wait, though.

        1. I would go to Sen5es (that's how they spell it, I think). It's in Georgetown. It might not fit the casual criterion, but I think their 3-course brunch can't be beat.
          Enjoy wherever you go!
