    Not sure if Julita's/El Encanto is still open, at 6521 Riggs Rd nr Univrsity Blvd in Hyattsville.

    Same with Manna, at 8640 Flower Ave in Takoma Park.

    Or try Latin Flavor, 600 Washington Blvd (Rt 1 nr Rt 198), Laurel. Closed Mondays.

    Oh, for DC, I read somewhere that Banana Cafe on Cap. Hill (8th St) has Cuban and Puerto Rican

    I've not been to any of these places, but would like to.

      There's a "hole in the wall" place on Eastern, a few blocks west of Broadway"
      You feel like you're in Mom's kitchen.

        The best Dominican food in the metro area is at Manna, in Silver Spring. I particularly recommend the carne guisada. Good luck!
