Help Me Decide Where To Eat In Baltimore on Saturday!

  • s

Will be down for (our last!) Loyola College Parent's Weekend this weekend and trying to decide among the following restaurants. I know they are all different and all sound great. Looking for some recommendations. Ruby Lounge, Blue Agave, Babalu Grill, or Vespa.

Just in case nobody else knows more, I know Vespa and Blue Agave. Vespa is a great date place, maybe not so good for being out with the folks unless your folks are hipsters. Blue Agave has a pretty eclectic menu, it is Mexican, but Yucitan mexican- by and large pretty different from typical mexican food. I have had a slow cooked pork dish that was incredibly flavorful and fulfilling, and they have Plantain crusted sea bass that is outstanding. If nothing else, your folks have probably never tasted anything like it (unless they hail from the Yucitan).
    Good luck!

    1. Susan, if you like Greek food, go to Karabelas in Fells Point on Broadway. For some reason, Baltimore has become a hotbed of Greek food, and it's getting national attention. I have eaten there several times, and it's routinely excellent.

It's also a little quieter than the other four restaurants, if that's what you're looking for.

      1. I had an exquisite meal at Charleston (1000 Lancaster Street) in Fells Point. Very highly recommend it.
