Indian and Texmex in DelRay

Have recently eaten at Poblano Taqueria and Bombay Curry Company, in DelRay section of Alexandria along Mount Vernon Ave. I'd recommend both.

Poblano is a cute little neighborhood place, a little outdoor seating, relatively (but not too) small menu of the kind of stuff you'd expect from a texmex place, and well done in my two visits. Well spiced and cooked beef and pork tacos carbon, good salsa, very yummy little fried chocolate balls with vanilla ice cream for a a dessert treat. My wife had an excellent chicken burrito and I can't remember what else.

Re Bombay, ate there once. Excellent chicken Korma, killer chicken vindaloo (I like it hot and this was scorchin')and nice naan. Service was, shall we say, (expectedly) perfunctory at best. This is a food, not "dining," experience. Vindaloo was not as overall tasty as my favorite at Haandi (Bethesda and Falls Church), but a nice alternative.

I agree with your review on Pobablano. Don't forget to try the pork taco with the adobo sauce and pineapple. Fantastic!
