Went back for a dinner on Tuesday before leaving the country again... Food was very good again, service was abysmal. Got menus, but waited twenty minutes to place an order. A larger party right next to us was in the same situation. Order went in, but no food came out. At least another ten minutes before the dumplings made it out of the kitchen. This would not have been a terrible wait if we were not already on edge, but I'm sure they could have gotten out of the kitchen faster. Another ten minutes, a really nice, if a bit thick-sauced, clams with black bean sauce. Clams were just right, and there were splashes of brininess to liven up the sauce. Unfortunately it took five minutes to get rice to eat with them. After we finished the rice and clams, we waited at least fifteen minutes to get the final dish. It was, however, declared "worth the wait." Salt and pepper fried dungeness crab. The crab meat was delicious, the batter irresistable. We cleared the plate of all the various nubs of fried innards and went back to the shells to scrape off the last bits.
I was glad to get the eating experience, but I was hoping to get out of there in less than the hour and a bit it took for a modest dinner. Dim sum still beckons, but I don't think I will go back for a dinner, unless I have a lot of time on my hands, and very good company who is not feeling peckish.
