Having moved to this area in '98 we've enjoyed several of the great restaurants in DC and also the wide variety of ethnic restaurants in Fairfax Co. we're now interestd in trying out bistro style restaurants in Fairfax Co. that serve nouvelle cuisine similar to Vidalia and Kinkead's (but not anywhere near as expensive!!!). Are there any restaurants like this in Fairfax County? TIA.

For starters, check out Blue Iguana in Fair Lakes, and St. Basil and Jasmine Cafe in Reston.

You'd have loved the Fern Street Bistro in Burke, but alas, it's gone thanks to a greedy bastard of a landlord.

A bit farther afield, check out Black Coffee Bistro in Middleburg and Tuscarora Mill in Leesburg.
