Party in a B'More Restaurant

Hi all,

I'm wondering if you have any suggestions about a restaurant that might be a good place to throw a party for around 20+ people in Baltimore. My first thought was the Helmand (if that gives some idea about price point)-- but they don't have a separate room (in case we get a bit noisy-- don't want to bother others), and they were unwilling to take a reservation for May until March, which leaves me a bit anxious about being left in the lurch come the time.

No need for a full bar-- wine and dinner.

If you want to stay in the neighborhood of the Helmand (Mount Vernon) you could inquire about the facilities at Tio Pepe(Spanish). If you don't mind moving the venue I can recommend The Black Olive on Bond St. in Fells Point (Greek) or Louisiana (French- Creole), a new restaurant on Aliceanna St. in Fells Point. All of these suggestions are fine dining along the lines of the Helmand, only more expensive than the Helmand (sorry, but as you know, the Helmand is a one-of-a-kind place in terms of offering fine dining very inexpensively.)

Try Brewer's Art, sort of midtown just north of the
Belvedere hotel, I think on Charles St. Great food, great brewed beer, a tad funky and upscale for a brew pub but in a beautiful building. They seem to have a lot of room and large tables to boot.
