mofongo / mofungo

Anyone know of a Cuban, Dominican, Puerto Rican, etc., restaurant in DC where I can try the fabled mofongo? (I have a link to a recipe @ recipehound (thanks helen). It contains bacon instead of carne seco, but I'm gonna try it anyway.)

I am not sure if they serve mofungo but Havana Cafe on Clarendon Blvd. in Arlington is a great Cuban place. Even if it is not on the menu, I would ask for it. They are authentic and really nice. They may make it for you if it is not readily available or a least tell you where you can get it. Even if they can't it is a great small place with friendly service and fantastic food.

If you're still looking...Cubano's on Fiddler Lane
in downtown Silver Spring has mofongo on its menu.
(The location of the old Shanghai).
But call first. When I tried to order it they said
I couldn't, and it wasn't clear whether this was a
      temporary or permanent situation.
