My family will be staying in Springfield, MA from July 1-4, spending one day at Six Flags. Any great local, family fare we should know about. As NYC eaters, the kids love Vietnamese, good Italian, anything that doesn't smack of Applebees or Olive Garden. Burgers also rule. Any suggestion for a family of good eaters who love to experiment and explore? Thanks.

Have you children try the Indian pudding at the Prince. It is my daughter's favorite. If you like beer, they have a great selection of German brews on tap. Max's Tavern at the BB hall of Fame is another good choice. If you are looking for more choices and don't mind a little drive, Northampton is about 25 minutes North and a Chowhound paradise. There are many posts if you check the board.

Pho Saigon for Vietnamese is very good. Typical Sicilian gets good reviews on the board, as well as Red Rose pizza.
