I'm looking for a place for sunday brunch in the Mystic/Stonington CT area. Preferably right on the water with a patio or outdoor seating as an option on a nice day. Any suggestions?

  1. Skippers Dock in Stonington Borough is a lovely spot. We used to go to the jazz brunch there quite often. I would check their web site to be sure it is still offered. Seamans Inn at Mystic Seaport, and the Inn at Mystic are also very nice.

Leave Mystic and drive into Westerly RI, to the Up River Cafe. I just had THE BEST lunch on their gorgeous outdoor patio on Monday (Memorial Day). Wonderful food, great drinks, lovely spot, great service. We couldn't have enjoyed it more. I attached their website - you can see a little pic of their deck. Our serve told us they'll be changing the menu slightly - next week I think she said? - to their summer menu.

SKIPPERS DOCK is really nice.(Stonington town,). However, when we think of breakfast by the water, we think, joyfully, of KITCHEN LITTLE, in Mystic. ( same road as the Mystic Seaport, a bit further down the road) It is a tiny basic kitchenette type of place BUT, you will want to sign up and wait for an outside table in the back. (not inside) Picnic tables, great view of the bay (mystic seaport, boats, etc. The breakfast food is terrific. Very casual. we love it. Skippers is casual, and definitely nice, but more classically upscale. We like that too. (We go there for lunch.)It is on the sound.
We live in Westerly, RI, so we go to these places often. I've never had brunch at UpRiver, (faces a little river) but it is not a place that would come to mind, especially if I were in the Stonington/Mystic area. I'm not nixxing it, since I have never been there for brunch, but I think the other places may be more desirable for your purpose.
