Vietnamese in Stamford

  • w

Are there any Vietnamese restaurants in or around Stamford?

(I did ask this question as an aside in a prior post so sorry for the repeat.)

  1. I don't think so.

When it opened, Galangal on Atlantic Street had some Vietnamese dishes on the menu, but I don't know if they still do.

Nope - Galangal is strictly Thai.

    2. I have been dying for a good Vietnamese place to open in Stamford! Galangal is the closest that we have for now, but for real Vietnamese your best bet is to just go to the asian store on Hope St. & make your own at home.

I have to agree with JohnnyCT Pho Saigon is excellent. I recently moved to Milford from Boston. There are many good Vietnamese restaurants in Boston and surrounding towns. I have been looking for a good pho house in the area. My Boston favorite was Pho Pasteur in China Town. Today I had lunch at Pho Saigon and had the house pho . It was the best I have ever had. The minute you walk through the door and inhale the aromas you realize this is going to be good. I have been going to Pot a Pho in New Haven. Never was impressed..This is hands down a winner. My SO had the Bun vermicelli and loved it.. If anyone knows of a better Vietnamese restaurant in the area please let me know.

          chow for now

There's a great Asian store right down the street from there. On friday afternoon they have bahn mi, a half bbq pig , offal, dumplings and other fresh prepared vietnamese food.
