Nashoba Club Ayer MA ?

Looking for a good pizza and beer place. Someone told me Nashoba Club was good.

Any thoughts? Never been, plus maybe bringing my 84 year old MIL.

I want a nice cold draft, along with NY/NJ style thin slice pizza.

    1. Never heard of it, try it and report back to us!
I usually go to Sorrentos in Harvard.

Okay, will do. It is on Central St. Behind the Post Office if that helps. Been there a long time, I just have never been.

I now just make it myself, but sometimes want to go out, and get a good pizza and a ice cold brew.

However, how is the pizza at Sorrento's. Is it thin crust? Just where is it - I need a landmark or two?

I live in Pepperell, so Harvard or even Ayer is not exactally close.

I'll go the distance to find good pizza though.

I really like sorrentos alot it is thin crust, it is brick oven style sorta like bertucis but much better. It is on rt 111 in a plaza on the right as your coming from Ayer. It is before you get to rt2 by about 1-2 miles.

I cant remember if they serve beer though.

ps. I have tried all the pepperell pizzas and dont like any of them. However the place next to Donalans makes really good boneless buffalo fingers.

              • The nearest place in MA I can think of with good beer is the Horseshoe Pub in Hudson. No pizza, but their burgers and sandwiches are quite good - unfortunately cannot say the same about their entrees.

You could also try Martha's Exchange brewpub in Nashua - not sure if they make pizza though.

Best NY/NJ style pizza I've had in the area is from Walden kitchen in West Concord. Crust reminds me of the pizza I grew up eating in NY.

Walden Pizza is a great place to get a slice but I love their calzones. They also make a tasty green bean salad with Italian seasonings.

They're on Main St. in West Concord. If you're coming east on 2, take the first right at the prison rotary which dead ends on Main St, take a left and Walden Pizza is up half a block on your left, after Deborah's Natural Gourmet.

While you're in West Concord, check out Concord Tea Cakes, the above mentioned health food store, and the 5&10 which has an amazing array of "stuff". There is also a very nice wine store not far from Concord Tea Cakes.
