Thanks for info on Anneke Jans

Had a wonderful meal at Anneke Jans last night -

Fried olives: we were famished, so we nearly finished them, but the serving is big enough for 3 or 4 people.

Baby greens with balsamic and goat cheese and fig - a nice, simple salad - very generous with the cheese, which is not always the case. Husband and I split this.

Entrees: Me - halibut with lobster, peas, bacon, sundried tomatoes, fingerling potatoes - fish perfectly cooked. I thought the tomatoes were unnecessary, but they didn't detract. Lovely smoky flavor from the bacon.

Husband - steak frites with grilled asparagus. He rarely orders steak, but this one was a true winner - excellent flavor, nicely cooked. Enough frites for an army.

Dessert - we split a vanilla bread pudding because bread pudding is husband's favorite. I liked the pudding's texture--neither too bready nor too eggy-- but the best part was the caramel sauce and spiced nut garnish. I was especially pleased to see that they brew/serve decaf in a press -- probably the best cup of decaf I've had in a restaurant.

Service was relaxed, friendly, and competent. All in all, a tremendous experience. I highly recommend this place!
