Dined at Bill's Seafood in Westbrook, CT, last nite. A mixed review. RI Clam Chowder - very good; Cajun Tuna - dry; my friend's trout - very good, according to her. Sides (rice, broccoli) were bland.

Anyone else want to relate their dining experiences at Bill's ?

While I more often visit Lenny & Joe's a few blocks west on Rt. 1, during the summer it is nice to sit on Bill's porch munching clam strips and watching for ospreys in the wetlands across the way. They also have bands some nights, and an Ashley's ice cream stand, so its not all bland.

Bill's is fun place to stop for a drink or two in the summer. If I'm eating, I'm going to Lenny and Joe's.

Agree to an extent about Lenny and Joe's. Normally don't eat fried seafood, but their breading is much better and lighter than average. They must change their cooking oil frequently. Really enjoy their fried shrimp and RI clam chowder.

We've never tried Bill's because we always make Lenny & Joe's our destination when we make the trip (1 1/2 hrs. each way) to Westbrook. We've always been so satisfied with L & J's that we haven't needed to go elsewhere.....great whole belly fried clams and lobster roll!!!
