Is Red's Eats in Wiscasset, ME still open for the season?

We're planning a trip up the cost of Maine this weekend and are looking for the best lobster roll. Does anyone know if Red's Eats is still open for the season?

You could call them, and check...

I believe that is closed. It is a great find in the summer. I would think it is a memorial day to labor day(it would be cold eating outside)

I vacation up there every September and Reds is open way past Labor Day.

Let's stop debating this. The place is closed for the season and boarded up tight.

Unless the temperature really does reach 70 degrees, and he's open, and the price for the lobster roll falls into some remotely reasonable range, I wouldn't even consider Red's. Right up the road across from Big Al's at the Sea Basket on Rte. 1 southbound, you can get terrific chowders and excellent lobster, crab, and clam rolls for less money in spanking clean surroundings and CHOOSE to sit indoors or out.

Red's was closed when I drove by last week - it was a weekday, late afternoon. I think the Season's over.

RE the unreasonable prices someone else mentioned, that's the craziest thing I've ever heard. $12.50 for a lobster roll with the amount of lobster they jam into it is entirely fair pricing.

The lobster roll was over $17 when I went in August.

I heard so much about this place. I leave in Connecticut, so it's a good 6-7 hour drive. Do they offer mail delivery?

Red's Eats opens for the season on April 18th. The 6 hour drive is well worth the visit. The lines at Red's stop traffic-literally. The customers have no other place to stand but in the street because the lines are so long. Well worth that wait as well. From lobster rolls with fresh picked Maine lobster, to the hand cut onion rings, to the battered fried clams (homemade batter too), to the hotdogs even!!! Boy oh boy Red's Eats is one place you don't want to miss. Tom cruise, Paul Newman, and Kevin Costner have been there. But, unfortunately, they don't deliver. ROAD TRIP!!!!!
