Inn at Weathersfield, VT, any thoughts?
- eating out
I'm going to be staying at this BandB tonight with my mother, she found it and claims it has great gourmet food. From the website it looks pretty good, but I was wondering if anyone's actually been to this place.
Also, any tips for places to go for lunch the next day or foodie things to do that are in the area? I think it's pretty near to Woodstock and some other small Southern Vermont towns.
All thoughts are appreciated, TIA!
The food is inconsistent at the Weathersfield Inn. The steak and chicken were great, the spaghetti and Bolognese plate were not very good. The Inn makes a great effort to do all local and organic food, and it's mostly good. A few goofs: very mealy and totally burnt chocolate chip cookies (how can you go wrong on chocolate chip cookies?), no water left out for the instant coffeemaker, pot au creme tasty but not great texture. The Black Watch steak couldn't be better. Stick to that and you'll be fine.
