<content>I have always wanted to go to the one in Newport. Last years beer list included some German Oktoberfest beers. See link below.

The real Oktoberfest in Munich was over as of Sunday. Most people in the US do not realize that Oktoberfest begins in the middle of September and ends on the first Sunday of October. Also many people won't start drinking Oktoberfest beer until October but the history of the Oktoberfest style (Marzen - German for March - when the beer is brewed) suggests that this type of beer was drunk all summer and early fall and that the stocks were finished off during the Fest season to make room for the new brewing season. Its all tied to the Bavarian beer purity laws and the fact that brewing was outlawed in Bavaria during the summer months.
