Need prime rib around Portland!!

Carnivorous Chowhound Sep 24, 2004 11:01 PM

We were talking about our favorite foods today at work, and I got excited to have some prime rib...you know, the old-fashioned, huge slab with the crispy brown crust and the ring of fat around the meat. But I don't know where I can get it...

Any out of the way, down home restaurants in southern Maine prepare it like mom used to make? I'd love to hear about them to satisfy a craving...

Jameson Tavern in Freeport serves a great Prime Rib with yorkshire pudding on Thurs Fri and Sat nights. I think that Village Cafe in Portland serves Prime Rib, and the Grey Gull Inn down in Well's serves it, not sure if it's nightly or just as a special some evenings.

Portland area has a whole list of good steak houses, including Outback..... and all are listed in the yellow pagers, and most are all located with a block of the Portland Mall.
