There has been an awful lot of stuff about SF and the past postings are a great resource. Having said that, you might consider the following: Postrio, Masa's, Hawthorne Lane, Zuni, Stars, Aqua, Plumpjack's and Boulevard. And if you're willing to spend a few minutes in your car, you can't do better than Chez Panisse or the Cafe at Chez Panisse in Berkeley or Oliveto at the Berkeley/Oakland border. Enjoy.
