If you want to go up to San Jose, you can get excellent
Mexican food at any number of little tacquerias. South
of there I don't really know where to eat.

I've never been to these, but a friend suggested them.
See the sidewalk links for more info.

Have any chowhounds visited them recently?...Janet

When in or near Palo Alto, give Mango Cafe a try--it's one of my big faves. On the main drag downtown. It is Carribean, one of the partners is from Jamaica, the other from Tobago. The food is excellent. The jerk chicken will take the lining off your mouth. One of the best features is the blended fruit drinks, served in goldfish-bowl sized (and shaped) goblets--I esp. like the one that is lime juice and ginger root, called Dragon's Breath, if I recall correctly.

I must disagree with the Mango Cafe recommendation. I find it boring at best. Carribean friends of mine have told me that it is not at all authentic. I know some people are very passionate about it, however.

Could you be a bit more specific in your question?
