Tamales in central CT?

diane Jun 28, 2004 11:15 AM

Does anyone know where I can buy tamales in central connecticut? Or at least recommend an authentic mexican resteraunt - I tried Taqueria Mexico in Wallingford but they only serve Tacos. I am hosting a Texas-style BBQ and would love to serve tamales, but I do not want to go through the labor of making them from scratch.
Thanks in advance!

Not so much in Central CT, but Guadalupe de Poblanita on Route 80 in East Haven offers the "Real Thing" in tamales. They are outstanding!

Hi. Check out TACO DIA in Newington. They serve tamales and offer take out. I would suggest GOOGLE-ing the place to read some reviews first. The Hartford Advocate reviewed this place about a year or so ago.

I know this is an old post, and you may have found your tamales, but go get them at Coyote Flaco in Hartford.

family-run authentic Mexican where the food doesn't need to be drenched in melted cheese.
