East Haddam Lunch suggestions needed

Hi!
Other than the Gelston House, are there restaurants you would recommend for a good lunch before a 2pm matinee at the Goodspeed Opera House next week? Thank you!

La Vita Gusto is a small Italian restaurant across the street from the Goodspeed. It is very good. Gleston house is okay but from what I have seen and experienced La Vita Gusto is much better. Jay

Kind of slim pickins' around there for lunch. I think Jay is right, La Vita Gustosa is probably your best bet nearby. And you can walk to Goodspeed! Might want to get resevations because of the event.

Try the River Tavern, Sage or Lupo.

I don't think River Tavern or Lupo are open for lunch, are they? Not sure about Sage.

Sorry for the bad info on River Tavern. I would definitely recommend River Tavern over La Vita Gustosa if the extra distance isn't a factor.
