We've been going to Nodine's for decades.
The bluefish is outstanding and most of their other smoked meats are very good, especially their sausages
However we like the smoked bacon and smoked polish kielbasa at Henry's Market in Bennington,Vermont better.
It's just a different brine solution that Henry's uses that is more to our taste;a milder more salty taste.
Try both places and see which you think is better.

ps-there used to be a place called Pekarski's put near Greenfield,Ma. that had great smoked kielbasa also but I don't know if they are still inbusiness.›2 Replies-

Yeah, but Nodine's is the best of they have the gourmet retail store in Goshen Ct. on Rte 63 just north of the rotary on the left and they have a great new web-site to buy from www.nodinesmokehouse.com it; easy to browse and has high definition photos and great precise descriptions of their products and compared to other High end Smokehouses they are quite reasonable.

I just love this place! They have great stuffed breads as well as all of the others mentioned. The one thing that I will say about their beef jerky is that it is tough so if you are looking for something that you can just pop in your mouth and is soft and chewy you will be greatly disappointed. Having said that I love their jerky, peppery and deliscious!

I have a house in Goshen and have been going to Nodine's for the last twenty years. It's really primarily a retail shop selling its smoked meats and fish as well as related items. They do make sandwiches as well. I think that most of their stuff is terrific. Particular favorites of my family are their juniper bacon and their various sausages. To my taste, their smoked turkey breast is inferior to that available elsewhere. They also have a beef jerky which is better than any jerky I've had elsewhere although still, I admit, a specialized taste.

*faint* It's an excellent place. I love their pepper-crusted smoked bluefish (I HATE bluefish) and their bacon is excellent, as are their sausages. I just saw a booth at the Terryville Fair - Yep! Nodine's. They're doing a little travelling now :). They will also somke your meats. A friend used to bring half a halg there every year, then take the aromatic result to South Street Market in Bristol for butchering.

re: Miz K
I have lived in Goshen for over 35 years and remember when Nodine's first opened a little store on the back of their house up the street from us. They have expanded over the years but have remained as good if not better than when they first started. I love their kielbasa and sausages.
