I ate there April 27th and the meal was awful.
Stuffed clams, (refereed as stuffies), were a mass of pasty goop.
Clam cakes were no better, they were a deep fat fried dough puck with little clams.

Hate to waste money on that crap.

I did leave a 20% tip. It was not the waiterperson’s fault.

When we were in Bristol last summer, we ordered clam cakes thinking they'd be like crab cakes with clams. They were the same as yours, fried balls with a tiny bit of clam in each ball. Even taking the different style of "cake" into consideration, it wasn't very good.

Sounds like you both got what you were supposed to get!

The price probably should have been a giveaway that clam cakes might not be like crab cakes.

George's stinks and George's has ALWAYS stunk. At least as far back as I can recall going there (early 70s when my big sister was a busgirl). I always cringe when I hear people being referred there.

Call me nostalgic, and a transplanted Yankee with precious memories, but I still say that Aunt Carrie's is THE place---and I still pronounce it "Ahhnt" not "Aaannnt" after 40 years of having lived all over the country, and now being deeply settled in Missouri, since 1966.
