Both are reasonably priced. Norm's is on Congress St and it is great! Becky's is very typical greasy diner food. Another great place for you would be Woody's Burgers.

From the public market, walk up to Congress St......take a right and about a 5min walk to Norms. You can ask anyone directions at the Market. Woody's is owned by an ex line cook of "Fore Street" and "Gabriels" and yes they are special! Organic and many nice sides and alternatives to burgers~

Woody's sounds like just my kind of place - I prefer organic but it is generally so hard to find. Where is Woody's? By the way, have you tried the fish fry at the Portland Market? Absolutely the best! Fresh, plentiful and not greasy at all. Thanks again.

I think Woody's burgers are too thin and I prefer the organic burgers at Pepperclub, across the street. Best burger in town (not organic) is at Soffrito. El cheapo, too. $5.95 for best burger in town, not bad?
Soffrito is on Wharf St.

I wish I'd been around when this message first popped up. I've been recommending Norm's for a few years, he's come a long way from his crazy rock band days in Boston. The Bar & Grill is amazing and the bbq place isn't too shabby either, but I think the grill is the better value. Interesting, reasonable and delicious.
