does anyone know of any inns or hotels in Maine that offer an authentic, on the beach clambake. It is an experience I would love to relive! You know, dig a ditch in the sand, throw it all in covered with seaweed and tarps! The real mcoy. There's really nothing like it!! if you can find it. I;ve only seen it at private functions but would book a room anywhere to try it again!

Sorry, Michelle this post won't answer you question but it seemed like a good space to squeeze in a similar one.
I'm getting married in Bar Harbor this September. For the rehearsal dinner we were hoping to have a catered lobster/clambake at our rental home in Southwest Harbor. Does anyone have experience and/or contacts with caterers who specialize in this?
Chowhounds, any help is appreciated, but please, help Michelle first.
