Eating Out in Jonesport, Maine

Jonesport is not very touristy, except on the 4th of July. The only place to "eat out" is "The Seafarer's Wife," and it is GOOD. Close to being "up-scale." Not too pricey, and nicely staffed by local folks. It is well worth a trip, but hard to find--tucked back among the pine trees, next to the turn-off road up to the high school. I love Jonesport--born there 77 years ago, but long gone--living in Missouri for 35 years. Professor Chelline

  1. Thank you for the tip Professor...you've just given me reason enough to head up Route 1 instead of taking Route 9 (the Airline) on my next trip to New Brunswick. Though I will still need to stop in at the BlueBird Restaurant in Machias for a cup of their bread pudding.

While you're at it, maybe you could stop in at Just Barb's in Stockton Springs. It's quite a drive for me, but you may go right by it! Let us hear, if you do.

    2. The Seafarer's Wife sounds like a destination trip for us living on MDI. What are its hours?
