Small pancakes? Are you sure you were at the Roadside? Their pancakes are enormous. Anyway, more importantly, does anyone know why the Roadside is temporarily (I hope) closed? It has been shuttered for at least a few weeks, possibly longer, with a sign outside saying its closed indefinitely due to an emergency.

I was told by a Gould Farm resident that it has been closed for the foreseeable future. They are re-evaluating whether the operation of the store meshes with their mission statement. This would be a tough loss for Berkshire Chowhounders.
Sadly, they had started going downhill at the beginning of the summer -
no egg white omeletes, no outdoor seating, no hash browns...etc. The reason given for the food restrictions was that they wanted the store to only use items they could source locally (i.e. no hash browns) and they didn't want to waste (i.e. they couldn't throw out the yolks). The outside seating was eliminated because it placed too much stress on the staff.
