I love the place. The service can be a bit slow but the food is really good. My favorite are the salt cod fritters with lemon rings. I also really loved the grilled corn with lime, aioli and cheese and the pan con tamate. Food is very yummy. They also have had a really nice rose sparkling wine when I've gone. The place does get pretty crowded but I haven't had to wait too long to get seats at the bar to eat.

I also loved my meal at Toro. I went to it before going to the theatre, so it was less crowded than usual. Particular dishes I'd recommend would be the pan con tomate, the razor clams, the foie gras with pear chutney, the skirt steak, and the cheese selection (I don't usually like cheese but I thought this was phenomenal). One thing I'd say though, is that assuming you're planning on eating a full meal, it can be fairly expensive. I think ours came to about 50 dollars a person for food (not including tax, tip and beverage).

Hi,

I ate there about a month after it opened, and found it pretentious and pricey for what it is. It's fun to people watch and snack a little, but the food didn't impress us.

For really good tapas, try Taberna de Haro in Brookline. They're the best in Boston (imho).

We stopped by on a Monday night - short wait for a table (perhaps 15-20 min) but rather than wait we grabbed seats at the bar. Bar staff was attentive, friendly and didnt rush us at all. We placed several rounds of food orders and they didnt shark plates etc as has been reported here. Food was great. Duck leg, pork belly, tripe, cheese and anchovies were highlights. All in all a very nice evening. I could see how such a small space could become unmanageble when really busy. Perhaps the key is to avoid the weekends. It appeared to work for us.
