It's been a while since I've dined there, but the Dining Room at the Stephanie Inn was quite nice, and romantic, though a bit dimly lit. The food was GREAT. Here's a link to their sample menu:

We ended up going to the Wayfarer Restaurant. Think McDonalds would have been more enjoyable. Decent view, food was so-so. Had breaded prawns, clam chowder, salad, etc.

Got to be honest and say that my last meal at the Wayfarer was WAAAY better than my last meal at the Stephanie Inn. Not even close.

The first meal I had at the Stephanie was good (not great), but the last one was just lousy...expensive and lousy (great service there, though). I like the Wayfarer better for lunch than for dinner, but I haven't found a lot of other places worth spending $$ on dinner in Cannon Beach.

I have had some lousy meals at the Bistro and at Cafe Mango. If you don't want to drive, buy your own seafood at the Ecola Seafood market and make it yourself (or have them cook it)...it's the best thing in town.

If you are willing to drive a bit down to Nehalem, the Nehalem River Inn is the best place in the whole area. It is really worth the 30-40 minute drive.

Cafe Mango closed awhile back. John Newman (previous chef at Stephanie) now has Newman's 988 that we would like to try soon.
My wife likes JP's for their steak and Gower St. Bistro has a nice menu selection and very good food. It is right next door to Wayfarer at the Cannon Beach Hotel.
Still have to try Pulicci's for the Italian next time we're in town. Bistro is our favorite right now, what can I say? We dine there a couple of times a week when we're visiting my sister. Nehalem River Inn sounds of interest to me. Later...jt

Newman's at 988 has taken over the space where Pulicci's was. Pulicci's is closed. Newman's is fabulous. We went there for my birthday and it happened to be a special winemakers' dinner. It was to die for. Highly recommended.
