Cafe Sushi

Is Cafe Sushi a decent place for a standby?..I know it is not the best, but just looking for a decent local place to grab some Sushi without having to get in the car or on the T...Thanks!

I think it's awful--the most flavorless sushi I've had in Boston, nigiri that falls apart, tiny slices of fish. Takemura is more expensive, but it's far better in my opinion.

It's not bad. Probably not the best choice in the square, but it hits the spot and is very reasonable. Actually, there are some special meal deals on Mon nights, so today might be a good day to hit it. The bento boxes are very nicely presented -- I usually get one of those rather than the sushi. Try the Unaju.

thanks, you mentioned not the best sushi in the square..what other places are there in Harvard square for sushi? I am fairly new to the sushi scene so I am still trying to find the good places.

Takemura. Sit at the bar, talk to the chefs. Dale is friendly.

See the thread from a couple of weeks back on Cambridge sushi. http://www.chowhound.com/newengland/b...
Takemura and Shilla are a bit better, although neither are fantastic imho. Both are more expensive than Cafe Sushi.

Tried Cafe Sushi on Saturday night, I enjoyed it. I'd say its come up a few levels from a few years ago. Fast service, decent cuts of sashimi, decent quality. For a standby I'd say its fine.
