  1. I might be going crazy, but I don't think the one on Newbury Street is there anymore.

No, it isn't. And the one in Harvard Square is now called Le's. Not sure exactly what's going on with Pho Pasteur these days...

there's still the one in chinatown, which i think was always the best by far (and cheapest), anyway!

There's also one in one of those malls at Chestnut Hill

          1. re: esqdork

Was in the Chestnut Hill one 2 or 3 weeks ago and the waitress said it was changing to something else within the next week.

The one in Allston is still a Pho Pasteur.

I don't really ever go there until I have a cold. In that case, their pho soups just hit the spot!

I ate at the one at the Atrium Mall last weekend, and they are changing to Le's Vietnamese Cafe or something like that. Definitely Le's, though. She said the menu was going to have more options, but they would still have pho.

I had the pho with rice vermicelli and beef meatballs, and the shrimp toast to start. Quite good-- and the bit of summer roll I had from my friend was quite tasty as well.

When did the one in Harvard square change name/ownership? Had been planning on going there for lunch today -- any concomitant change in menu/ price/ quality? I go fairly regularly, but have never thought it was great.

It changed its name last month. I'm thinking it may be much like the old Pho Pasteur; the owner of Pho Pasteur's name is Le, so maybe there was a break in the restaurant ownership.

This must have been recent. I was at the one in Harvard Sq last month and it was still called Pho Pasteur. And I walked by the one in Harvard Sq last weekend and it was still called Pho Pasteur. Of course, this was from the outside. Maybe inside it says Le's

Ha, I was there Wednesday and didn't even notice the name change.

The one in Harvard Sq is not called Le's. I was in Harvard Sq tonight and examined every sign for Pho Pasteur and none of them said Le's. Are you sure you're not thinking of a different Pho Pasteur?

A major site says that it is now called Le's, and I was on a blog where someone went to the one in Harvard Square and mentioned that it is now called Le's.

This is getting confusing! Could someone from Pho Pasteur clear this issue up, if you are reading this? Thanks!

What site says it's called Le's?

I was in Harvard Sq on Friday night and went to Pho Pasteur specificially to check it out. None of the three signs (the one outside the garage on JFK street, the one hanging outside on Dunster street, and the one painted on the window of the restaurant) said Le's. They all said Pho Pasteur.

My friend and I were confused because I told her I read just that morning on Chowhound that it was changed to Le's. All the Pho Pasteur newspaper clippings were still taped to the restaurant window too.

Not sure if they will let me mention the name here, but it was Citysearch...

Is that the only reason you think it's called Le's? Or did someone from Pho Pasteur tell you (or someone else)that they were renaming the restaurant?

Someone on another site (a blog) mentioned that they went to the Harvard Square Pho Pasteur and was surprised to find out that it was now Le's. Maybe that was bad info, and Citysearch saw it and changed it on their site, not knowing it was bad info.

Maybe they had the wrong Pho Pasteur. The one in Harvard Square is definately NOT called Le's. Unless they changed it in the past three days, of course

So has anyone found out exactly what's going on with Pho Pasteur? Are they all going to change to Le's? Is it basically just a name change? This seems to be pretty big news but I can't find anything out about it.

                1. I just called them (617-864-4100) and they answered "Pho Pasteur" so if the name -was- changed it has changed back!

The one in Harvard Square is good, not great. The food never wows but always satisfies.

                      2. I believe they have split ownership of the company. So, some are called Le's and some have remained Pho Pasteur. I usually go to the one in the Atrium Mall as it's the closest one to me and found that since the name change, their phos aren't as good as they used to be. Too bad because it's pretty much the only thing I order whenever I'm in there.
