Temper Chocolates is a chocolate shop in the Hotel Commonwealth right in Kenmore Square. I have personally not tried the goods but have heard raves from friends. It is not technically a standalone retail location, more like a tiny little gift shop/booth area tucked away on the side of the hotel lobby (you can order tea and coffee drinks and sit in the lobby to drink them, I believe).

They serve cafe style drinks (hot choc, espresso etc....) but the main attraction is the wide (but not all encompassing) selection of chocolates. One of may favourites are the ones from Arriba Plantations (also available from Savenor's on Charles, not sure about Cambridge branch). The folks there are knowledgable about chocolates, particularly about ones available in the US. I'd strongly recommend staying away form this year's batch of Domori, very unbalanced and acidic.
