A long time ago, Johnny D's used to do a great lunch menu. I recall one of their sandwiches with a nice steak with a blue cheese topping on a very crusty baguette bread. Then, one day they abruptly stopped doing lunches.

Does anyone know if they've resurrected their lunch menu?

I like their Saturday brunch.

It's the same food as their Sunday brunch, but it seems like fewer people know about it, because I never have to wait for a table. Plus, on Saturdays you can drink before noon, which you can't do on a Sunday, and their bloody marys (maries?) make it seem, if not less a sin, at least worth the damnation.

Good oatmeal too, and usually an interesting pancake choice or two.

I haven't been to their brunch in awhile, but always a good meal for short money. And I like that you can drink before noon as well. :-) Saturday's definitely better than Sunday from a crowd perspective.

How's the dinner? My schedule may be opening up enough for me to catch the 50% off early dinner special sometime soon. Is it worth it? What's good? Anything to avoid?

Thanks!

It's been a couple of months since I've had dinner there, but aside from one bad experience (the veggie burger) the food is fine - certainly not a destination dining spot, but at 50% off, definitely worth it. I've had a couple of the chicken dishes, and a couple of the pastas, all perfectly respectable, though not stellar.
