<content>I just had some amazing fries at Apotheke, the European-style bar at 1314 NW Glisan that specializes in digestifs and tonics. They call them "Patat (Belgian fried potatoes)", and serve them with a creamy mayo. Their texture was crispy and addictive, and the large serving size would make a pretty hefty snack for three people. They were a tad oversalted for my taste, though.

The beverage offerings are unique and interesting, too. There are some sampler flights that are a good value if you want to taste several of the herbal tonics, bitters, or fruit brandies, and the owner is quite knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations.
