Hello,

I am working on a movie from July 7th to July 11th. It is a short low budget movie that is being shot in Boston. I am looking for cheap lunch near Commonwealth Avenue, and also places in South Boston. We are trying to keep it as cheap as possible, such as discounts or donations. We will be feeding about twenty people for lunch. I would really appreciate it if anyone knows of places that would be good for us, then would you please email me at Babbje@emmanuel.edu.

Thank you
Jennifer B.

If you have any suggestions for Jenn B., please post here rather than send an email. Email helps only one hound; posting helps the entire pack. Thanks!

I just posted on Mul's Diner, an old-school Southie diner on W Broadway at A Street. It's cheap, very good, and serves breakfast and lunch till 3pm seven days. Serving 20 at once at peak hours might be a challenge, but that's going to be true at a lot of places.

The L Street Diner at L and E 5th Sts is a similarly bargain-priced, homey restaurant that is more full service (comfort-food entrees, pizza, beer/wine, dinner, open till 10pm). A recent Phoenix review suggests their burgers are awewsome; I have yet to try one here. They might take a reservation for a big group like that.

As for Comm Ave, where exactly? The Public Garden? The Brighton/Newton line? Somewhere in between?
