Best Szechuan in the Region? Willing to Drive

Planning on hitting up some good Szechuan tomorrow, and want to know where to go. Best experience I've had so far was Szechuan Gourmet on Rt. 9 in Framingham, but I'm open to suggestions. I have no problem driving a ways (I'm in Cambridge). I've hit Shangri-la and Mary Chung's recently as well, so probably somewhere else.

    1. You may have already hit the best in Sichuan Gourmet. Sichuan Garden (Brookline Village and Woburn) is very good, as is New Taste of Asia (Coolidge Corner), and although I've never been, there have been many raves posted regarding Zoe's (Somerville). However, the best Sichuan I've had yet is right there in Framingham at Sichuan Gourmet.

              Sorry to take it off topic, but I had been wanting to try Sichuan Gourmet. Any suggestions? Anything stand out?

                  I wasn't ordering, so I don't remember names, but what stood out was (1) this fish and brocolli in a hot broth with a layer of hot pepper on top of the broth and (2) a really spicy kind of braised beef dish.

                      I'm pretty sure the first dish you mention is Jin Giu fish, on the specials card (and the only one with three peppers' worth of heat).

                      Among my favorites at Sichuan Gourmet are Chicken with Smoked Cayenne, Double Cooked Bacon, Pork Spareribs with Bamboo Shoot, Cumin Flavored Beef (specials), Dry Cooked Beef with Chili Sauce (one of their newest specials), and the spicy chicken wing appetizer.

                          Thanks!
                          Did the Jin Giu fish, Cumin Beef, and Smoked Duck. As good as I remembered. The owner (I think that was him) was very nice as well.

                          There is a dish, I think it's called twice cooked bacon that is very good. Somewhat fatty but I really liked it the one time I went.

                              they have a wonderful appetizer that's steamed pork dumplings in chili sauce. they melt in your mouth and then the heat kicks in. makes you want 10 more !!!

                                  I haven't had anything that wasn't great, but I have a recurring craving for their Smoky Chicken with Cayenne Pepper (IIRC). Soooo good.

                                      Well, I was just at Sichuan Gourmet in Billerica last night, and I had all of my favorites:

                                      Hot and Sour Wonton Soup (this, after being watered-down three times, seems to be back to its good old form);

                                      Sliced Roast Beef & Tendon with Chili Sauce; and

                                      Sichuan Cold Noodles (I get the nonspicy version, because it is very good, and otherwise the spicy sauce is redundant).

                                      I also love their Ma Po Tofu with Pork and many of their other spicy entrees. While their Cellophane Noodles with Minced Pork in Special Sauce (aka Ants Climbing a Tree) is very good, I prefer the brighter flavor of this dish as done by Sichuan Garden IN BROOKLINE VILLAGE (NOT in Woburn).
