When I was in London, I had this great nan with coconut and almonds. I've never seen it outside of London, and I was wondering if anyone had seen it here.

The Peshawari Naan (stuffed with nuts and shredded coconut) can be found at Punjab Cafe, Quincy. Comparable sweet naan with cashews & raisins, also called Peshawari, can be found at Rani Indian Bistro (Brookline) on Beacon Street. At Tantric on Stuart St, the Lakhnawi Naan has almonds, cashews and raisins, but no coconut. Come to think of it, even Diva in Davis Sq has a sweet naan. Most indian joints taht have a Northern style cuisine will have a sweet naan. But Punjab cafe definately has coconut in their naan.

I just had my first meal at Tamarind Bay in Harvard Square after reading the raves here on chowhound. They had a naan that had almonds in it but I can't remember if there was coconut. It was quite good. I really love the sweet naans and always look for them when I eat at Indian places. In Pittsburgh I once had a naan with the almonds, coconuts and dried cherries. Mmmmmmm.
(By the way, at Tamarind Bay I ordered the eggplant in cashew gravy as recommended here. Wow. It was like melted ice cream. Good but intense. And the banana dumpling dish was very interesting in a non-banana tasting kindof way. Next time I'll try the chili chicken).
