Jakes clams - quick report

Stopped in at Jakes in Hull this weekend after a day at Nantasket. The clams were still top-notch: sweet, light and crispy. $12.95 for a GENEROUS small size and a side of slaw (they gave me 2!) brought the whole affair to $14.99.

I had an awesome fish and chips there a couple of weeks ago -- absolutely huge serving, fish so fresh it practically wiggled, excellent slaw, good (not great) fries. Also got a wonderful chunk of swordfish at the retail counter to grill that night.

I agree that the fries aren't the best out there, but their onion rings are absolutely to DIE FOR!!!

I had the very best fried seafood plate ever at Jakes about a month ago. I was kind of put off by the 20-30 minute wait from order til it was ready. (This was the take-out section) But, after a day at the beach we were starved, the plate was perfection and filled us both! Highly recommended
