Wow, so this is what RW is all about. Sage was a near perfect 10. The only reason I wouldn't give it a perfect 10 was that I ran out of water and didn't get a refil.

Apps - Tomato soup, gnocchi with sage and browned butter (their signature dish which hasn't been on the menu for a while), and field greens with balsamic on parmesan toast

Entree - Slow roasted Porchetta with Portobella mushrooms, Crispy Salmon with Sicilian Couscous, and something else that I can't remember

Desert - Peach and Plum Cobbler (I think I have the correct fruits), Classic Creme Brulee, Sweet Corn Fritters with vanilla ice cream.

I got the greens, the porchetta and the corn fritters. The salad was good, fresh and well presented, the pork was very good - slow roasted did not mean over cooked at all; in fact it was still lovely and slightly pink in the middle. It was served with a nice sized serving of chopped portobella mushrooms in a yummy sauce.
I cannot say enough good things about the gnocchi. Sage does to gnocchi what Pavarotti does to Opera. It was tender without being mushy and full of flavor. The salmon was very good too, but the best thing in both entrees was the couscous - it was fabulous!
For dessert we got the creme brulee and the corn fritters. The creme brulee made you swoon - but it was just really, really good creme brulee. What was a pleasent surprise was how good the corn fritters were. The perfect crunch of the fried fritters, the sprinkling of powdered sugar and the dolop of ice cream made this dish everything good about summer. It just tasted like a wonderful county fair.

OH, and the wine. They had some restaurant week specials on the menu, we got a very good bottle of merlot for $18. That's right - 18 for the whole bottle, and it was good - really good. They had several others for $16 a bottle and none of the RW wine choices were over $30 a bottle.

I know it's a bit late in restaurant week to be making new plans, but if you can get a reservation to Sage, do it! Oh who cares about RW, just go back to Sage, it's just such a great place.

Great review, I was there also, well said. Food couldn't have been better and portions were ample, I will add about the fantastic service, we had resv for 4, 1 cancelled last minute..her loss, another was mbta challenged and came 1/2 hour late. The waiter was so gracious about our delay, so professional friendly and no attitude. We shared a bottle of Spanish white (forgot the name), but he compared it to a pinot grigio it was so clean and smooth, it was also a RW special for $28. I definitely have been converted to the gnocchi at Sage...so so good, and that corn fritter. Carb's well spent.
