Okay, I want to try this place as the reviews on this board sound pretty tasty. But, where is it? I thought I'd seen it on Mass Ave, but it's not on Mass Ave, is it? How do I get there, and more importantly, what do I get?

Thanks all!

Look sharp: it's easy to miss even if you're walking by it. It's a tiny little storefront. And it's cash only, and BYO.

Baraka used to be BYOB years ago, but last time we asked, they said we can't bring wine due to the wonderful Cambridge law forbidding BYOB. Has anyone brought wine there recently?

About what to get:
-smoky eggplant appetizer
-cheese plate with figs
-Lamb chops are simply amazing

I checked, and you are correct: no BYOB in Cambridge anymore.

P.S., the easiest parking in the neighborhood for non-residents of Cambridge is in the Green St garage next to the Green St Grill.

they have a handwritten sheet of specials which has never disappointed. I've always either had lamb or fish entrees, every last one superb. I also highly recommend the pommes frites (not on the menu but always available), the sharbat (don't drink too much or you'll lose your appetite), and the creme brulee.

Btw has anyone ever ordered the bastilla (/bistiyya) here? They need 36hrs notice)

Approximately, it's fairly large pie made with v flaky pastry (not unlike a croissant) filled with minced squab, and topped with powdered sugar, a savoury/sweet combo that's quite popular in N Africa.

Hey Limster, if you do decide to go to Baraka, make sure you tell them a day or so ahead of time that you're planning on getting the b'stilla. I'm not sure if they have it regularly nowadays, but when I went several years back, you had to pre-order it since it requires ingredients they may not get daily.
