Frozen Custard

Hey chowhounds! I'm looking for a place in the Boston area that has frozen custard...I last had it in Maryland and recently moved to Boston, and can't find it anywhere! Help! Thanks y'all...

Alas, I haven't found real frozen custard up here. In Old Orchard Beach ME I once found something calling itself frozen custard but it was just soft ice cream. Last time I had was when I visited my parents in NJ.

    I think it's regional to the mid-atlantic.

I thought frozen custard was a purely Midwest thing.

I actually found one place that does...Emack and Bolio's in Brookline serves a close approximation of frozen custard, but not 100% on the money - if anyone else knows of a place, give a shout out! Thanks...

E& B has 12 locations, not just Brookline!
Herrell's has several custard-based flavors. I can't say how this compares to what you are used to.

Frozen custard is very popular in Illinois (e.g. the Custard Cup restaurant in Champaign-Urbana IL)...good for those hot muggy summers
