I'm wiping the sugar off my face now.
The Krispy Kreme folks have definitely done this before. They had a ton of people working there, moving people through very quickly. I only had to wait in line for 10 minutes at 7:30 this morning. They were handing out free ones to the people i line. (heard there was a 2 hour wait at 5 am though).

Here's the article in today's Globe. I still don't get it. And anyone who waits in line for 12 days for a donut or a Star Wars movie or whatever is sick. I like how they rag on DD for not spelling donut properly but it's okay to spell crispy and cream wrong.

I get it.

A warm krispy kreme is truly one of the most amazing taste sensations there is. I was lucky enough to get an advance taste of their signature glazed doughnut yesterday (sorry, i could tell you where/how but then I'd have to kill ya)and it was truly delicious. There really is no comparison between a glazed krispy kreme and a glazed dunkin' donut....that being said...I will continue to frequent dunkin donuts for their truly refreshing iced coffees...but if I'm looking for a donut, I'll make my way to Medford.

(But I'm not crazy..I'd never wait for hours in line for a measly donut...)

Went there with friends at 10pm yesterday, thinking the line would've died down by then.

Wrong.

15 car line just to enter the lot.
The lot had 200+ cars in it, I bet.
The line was an hour long and 300+ people.
Kudos to the KK folks for moving it along at a reasonable pace.

I'm not a huge doughnut fan (DD, KK or otherwise), but the hot doughnut was unlike any food I've ever had before. I can see why people find them addictive. The ones that weren't hot weren't anything special, IMO.

As we were leaving, some guy was getting cuffed and stuffed into a cruiser by some Medford cops.
A live "COPS" episode _and_ Krispy Kremes?
So much entertainment value for your dining dollar.

All in all one of the craziest food scenes I've ever witnessed.

Also, I was told that it will be open 24/7 for the first 2 weeks.

KK is notorious for being busiest at night, btw, at least south of the Mason-Dixon line.

I have to be in a mood for them; I am one of those Yankees who finds them too sweet for most of my moods.

Still, I wish them at least some luck, as I want more competition against Dunkin Donuts, which has killed too many great mom & pop operations over the years with its saturation expansion.

I want my Kane's!
