Okay, this isn't NYC, but I wouldn't want to share this with strangers. Had a 26$ burger at db Bistrot Moderne in Manhattan ... Tim's has it beat. This was ginormous -- too big for a bite. And the short ribs and foie gras was too (looking for a Limster like word here ... ) too ... disparate? unintegrated? Like a big ol' hunk of liver in the middle of the burger. we had no choice but medium rare -- the asking seemed a formality: "How would you like your hamburger? MEDIUM RARE?" um, sure.

Other entrees were warm guinea hen salad with curry vinegrette and frogs legs. but the burger's the thing here. fries weren't bad, either.

Man, what a bust! I read recently that that one dish accounts for 40% of their food receipts on many nights.

I had that on my must-try list for some future Manhattan visit, but that slips a few notches after reading your review!

hey, i am not stopping you -- and perhaps you would love love love it. but i wasn't that impressed. it was fun to get -- if only once. you could probably do as well in your kitchen at home.

Yes, I have to agree with Sarah. It was good along the lines of "it's so unique you have to try it once", but other than that, certainly not worth the price and better burgers, as have been mentioned, abound here in Boston.

I wasted an all too infrequent NY meal on the DB burger in December. I remember it was very good, but I'll take a Bartley's at 1/6 of the price. I also didn't like the cramped sterile surroundings and attitude. Wish I had gotten my red meat fix at Peter Lugers instead.

alright, i'll be the contrarian.
I loved the db burger.
ok, calling it a burger is kind of ridiculous, and the truffles are totally a waste since the taste is overpowered by the short ribs, but it sure was tasty.
